365 Ways to Get Results – #64 Sit on Your Ego
Are there people you just can’t get along with? Have you ever felt that no matter what you do, things just won’t improve? Have your expectations arm wrestled your patience to the ground.
Here is a mantra that many of my clients post on their computer monitor, desk, kitchen and telephone to remind them of what to do when people and situations frustrate them:
Sit of your ego. Say nothing. Listen only. Develop a forgiving attitude (most people are doing the best they can.) Be kind to unkind people (they probably need it the most.)
You can never get enough of the things you don’t need. Show people dignity and respect and the return will be palpable.
